Kickstart: Where competitive dance begins.

Kickstart is our entry competition team: real training, real competitions, and the habits of a serious dancer, sized for young dancers competing for the first time.

3 classes per week Weekly rehearsals Typically 1–3 routines Season runs July–May
Who Kickstart Is For

The honest fit

Kickstart is for young dancers taking their first step onto the competitive path. Many Kickstart dancers have never competed before; some are as young as 4. What they share is readiness to train with purpose and a family ready to support it.

Kickstart is the first of our three teams. Dancers who train consistently grow into Fusion, our intermediate company, and eventually The Core, our elite company. Every dancer is placed by audition each May onto the team that matches their current level.

The Weekly Commitment

3 required classes, across three pillars

Classes build the dancer; rehearsals clean the routines. Kickstart dancers train every pillar, every week.

1

Classical

Ballet, Floor Barre, Pre-Pointe, Pointe, Legs & Lines

1

Jazz Technique

Cross Training, Turns & Leaps, Footwork, Jazz Progressions

1

Electives

Acro, Hip Hop, Jazz/Lyrical Combo, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Tap, Improv, and more

Plus weekly rehearsals: every routine has a dedicated 30-minute block; most are on Wednesdays, and a few run on Tuesdays back-to-back with those dancers’ classes. Your dancer is called only for their routines. Classes your dancer competes in count toward the pillar minimums; they are not extra. The minimums are the baseline, not the goal; dancers chasing scholarships and overalls consistently train beyond them.

The Standards

What we ask of every Kickstart family

Attendance is mandatory

Classes and rehearsals are required. Sick or truly unavoidable conflict? Contact us in advance so we can plan around it.

It is a full-season commitment

The Company runs July through May. Mid-season withdrawal leaves the family responsible for everything already fulfilled: taught choreography, ordered costumes, rehearsal fees through the withdrawal month, and event fees already paid.

We protect the culture

Gossip and drama have no place here, in person or online. If something is not working, come to us first; nearly every conflict is solved with one honest conversation.

How to Join

Common Questions

Answered honestly

My dancer has never danced before. Is Kickstart realistic?+
Yes. Kickstart exists exactly for this. Dancers audition in May; if your dancer is brand new, start weekly classes now (the first week is free), and they will be ready to audition with confidence.
How much time does Kickstart actually take each week?+
Three weekly classes, plus your dancer’s Wednesday rehearsal blocks (30 minutes per routine). A Kickstart dancer in two routines is typically at the studio three to four hours a week.
How many routines will my dancer compete?+
Most Kickstart dancers compete 1 to 3 routines. The number is set by your commitment survey before auditions, so it never exceeds what your family signed up for.
Can my dancer move up to Fusion next season?+
Yes; train at the level you want to compete at. Dancers auditioning for Fusion are evaluated alongside dancers already training twice the Kickstart minimum, so training beyond the minimum is how dancers move up.
