Dance Styles We Offer
Genres
From classical foundations to collegiate-level training, our classes provide the stepping stones from preschool beginnings to pre-professional artists.
Ballet
A classical dance genre foundational to nearly all styles, emphasizing proper alignment, turnout (outward rotation of the legs), strength, and artistry through barre and center exercises.
Cross Training
Cross training is when dancers and athletes supplement their primary training with different forms of exercise (such as strength work or cardio) to build well-rounded fitness, prevent injury, and improve performance. It helps target muscles and skills not fully developed in their main discipline, leading to greater strength, endurance, and balance.
Jazz Combo
Teaches a new jazz choreography combination weekly, emphasizing retention, musicality, sharp execution, clarity, and adding personal style or groove to movements.
Contemporary Phrasing
Builds continuity and emotional depth in movement through longer phrasework and complex transitions. This class emphasizes fluidity, spatial awareness, and musical interpretation, refining a dancer’s ability to connect one movement to the next with intention.
Lyrical Combo
Teaches weekly lyrical choreography combinations, focusing on emotional storytelling, musical phrasing, fluidity, and precise execution of movement.
Acro
Combines limbering, tumbling, balancing, and partner work with strength-building drills to safely develop skills like handstands, walkovers, and aerials.
Pre-Pointe
Pre-Pointe is a foundational ballet class designed to prepare dancers for future pointe work by building the strength, alignment, and technique required for safe pointe training. Dancers focus on ankle stability, core control, turnout, and proper placement through targeted exercises.
Stretch & Strength
Establishes foundational flexibility and strength critical for technical readiness, helping dancers develop control and prevent injuries.
Jazz Technique & Choreo
Blends classical jazz training with weekly choreography designed to push musicality, speed, and style. Focuses on core jazz skills (isolations, dynamics, and rhythm) while also building performance quality and versatility across commercial and concert jazz styles.
Contemporary Technique & Improv
Encourages spontaneous movement and artistic risk-taking through guided improv tasks and contemporary and modern technique. Dancers cultivate their own voice while learning to respond to music, space, and ensemble dynamics in real time.
Hip Hop
Rooted in the history and culture of hip hop, this class covers grooves, isolations, musicality, b-boying (top rock, footwork, freezes, power moves), across-the-floor drills, and urban choreography.
Variations
Explores classical ballet solos and ensemble works, focusing on stylistic nuances, musicality, and expressive performance. Dancers study repertoire from traditional ballets to develop stage presence and refinement.
Legs & Lines
Builds hyper-flexibility and advanced technique following a Stretch & Strength foundation, focusing on turnout, clean lines through knees and feet, and movements like tilts, penchés (forward leg extensions), and high développés.
Turns & Leaps
Develops precision, strength, and proper alignment for jazz-specific turns (e.g., pirouettes, fouettés) and leaps (e.g., jetés, switch leaps), enhancing clean execution and consistency.
Improv & Partnering
Combines contemporary and modern technique with improvisation and partner work to develop trust, weight sharing, and spatial clarity. Dancers gain strength in connection, responsiveness, and safety in partnered lifts and movement exploration.
Tap
A percussive style focused on creating rhythmic patterns and sounds through intricate footwork, developing timing, clarity, and musicality with movements like shuffles, flaps, and time steps.
Ballet/Acro/Jazz
Our Preschool Program introduces young dancers to foundational techniques in ballet, acro, and jazz through creative exercises that build coordination, flexibility, and basic skills in a playful, supportive environment.
HOW WE DANCE
Our Approach to Training
At The Dancehouse & Co., every class and program is built with a clear purpose: to elevate each dancer’s technique, artistry, and mindset.
We don’t just offer classes; we run a structured training program where dancers are taught how to train with focus, discipline, and intention. Our faculty leads with clarity and high expectations, not just to improve skillset, but to build artists who understand how to apply corrections, retain choreography, develop performance maturity, and sustain long-term growth.
We focus on the whole dancer. That means developing exceptional physical ability while also reinforcing the mental skills required to succeed: responsibility, consistency, confidence, and grit. Our instructors are educators first and foremost. They deliver technical feedback, track individual progress, and challenge dancers to exceed their comfort zones while maintaining high-level professionalism.
Whether your dancer is enrolled once a week or pursuing a competitive path, they’ll experience the same standard of excellence. We don’t ‘water down’ training. Every dancer is held to the same expectations and taught the skills necessary to progress with purpose.
Because we believe every dancer, regardless of age or commitment, deserves the tools, training, and coaching required to become the best version of themselves as a dancer and individual.

What to Expect
At The Dancehouse & Co., you can expect exceptional instruction, clear structure, honest feedback, and a focused environment where dancers are pushed to reach their potential. This isn’t a place to simply attend class; it’s a place to grow, to work, and to become. If you’re looking for more than just dance classes, you’re in the right place.
