Megan Bright
Studio Director
Acro, Contemporary, & Jazz Technique Instructor
Megan Bright began her dance training at Impulse Dance Project in Wilmington, North Carolina, under the direction of Elissa Edwards and Lindsey Bryant. She had the opportunity to work with professionals such as Jason Williams, Nick Dinicolangelo, Ryan Kirby, and Wyatt Rocker during in-studio master classes and guest choreography. Megan’s competitive dance background is includes conventions such as NYCDA, Nuvo, and Adrenaline, where she competed and placed as a soloists and scholarship recipient.
After closing her chapter as a convention dancer, Megan continued her training across the country, including attending the invite-only intensive SWEAT by The Colony. She was personally invited to join the CLI Conservatory by Teddy Forance, but she declined in order to pursue other opportunities.
While traveling across Florida to teach and choreograph, Megan deepened her knowledge in dance education by studying pedagogical structure and theory. She trained under Ekaterina Trunina and earned official certification from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in the classical Vaganova Ballet method. In Acro dance, she trained under Melissa Klassen through the Acro Dance Teachers Association (ADTA) Premiere Comprehensive Program. Additionally, Megan has studied a variety of curriculums, including DiscoverDance for early childhood dance education, Anne Green Gilbert’s Creative Dance for All Ages focusing on brain-compatible dance education and improvisation, International Dance Technique (IDT, BodyLab, and AcroLink), and The Godfrey Method.
In January 2020, Megan founded The Dancehouse & Co. on a mission to provide elite dance education to the St. Augustine community in a supportive, progressive environment. She is passionate about building a professional environment for artists to refine their technique and achieve their highest potential as dancers, performers, and individuals.
Brooke Adams
Office Admin
Ballet, Repertoire, and Pointe Instructor
Brooke Adam’s passion for dance ignited at two years old. Her dance training began under the instruction of Russell Capps and Maricar Drilon at Northwest Classical Ballet in Vancouver, WA. As her training needs intensified, she transferred to Sultanov Russian Ballet Academy in the Portland Metro Area of Oregon. There, she studied under the instruction of Artur Sultnov and Raissa Chazova-Bauer. Brooke competed and placed as a finalist in the prestigious YAGP competition in 2012.
She performed as Clara and Sugarplum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Kitri in Don Quixote, and repertoire such as Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and many more. Brooke had the opportunity to attend a multitude of summer intensives spanning across the country, such as Pacific Northwest Ballet and Bolshoi Ballet Academy, to name a few. She was accepted to The Rock School for Dance Education, Kirov Academy, American Ballet Theatre (ABT), and Long Beach Ballet but declined to pursue other opportunities.
Brooke ceased dancing as she had experienced some medical issues, but her love and passion for the art form stayed. Brooke believes dance is a form of poetry — a way to express oneself without the need to say a word. From one’s movements, a thousand words can be told.
Brooke resides in St. Augustine with her husband, Andrew, their son Wellington, and their daughter, Georgia.
